Douglas Sacks
  • Douglas Sacks has worked on-site on five continents assisting both U.S. and international companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies establish operations and develop and implement direct marketing, database marketing, Internet and Web  2.0 campaigns. Presently a partner in Focus Worldwide, he was formerly an international marketing consultant. He also worked for Infocore, Inc. as head of their international marketing consulting division, ICS.
  • Companies and agencies he has worked with include: the Dupont Corp., Acxiom, Experian, Time Warner Music, CNN International, Invest in Sweden Agency, Veritas Analytics, American Express, MasterCard International and UNICEF.
  • Doug is the past Chair of the U.S. DMA International Council’s Operating Committee (OPCOM)
  • 2001-2003, and the former Editor of its newsletter, the Hot Press.
  • He is: the author of more than twenty articles on international marketing and data privacy legislation, a contributor to several books on international marketing, and a frequent speaker at marketing events both in the U.S. and abroad. Since 2005 he has been a featured monthly columnist for “Direct Marketing International” Magazine (UK) www.dmionline.net.
  •  Affiliations past and present include:  Board of Directors of the DMA of India, Executive Board (Director of Strategic Marketing) of Electronic Solutions of Pakistan (ESOLPK), New York University (Adjunct Asst. Professor of Marketing in the “Master of Science in Direct and Interactive Marketing” program). In 2001, NYU presented Doug with its Award for Teaching Excellence in the School for Continuing and Professional Studies. In 2007 he was invited to join the Founders Board for The Center for University Based Enterprise and Development at the University of New Haven in New Haven, CT (CUBED@UNH)  (www.newhaven.edu/cubed).  He is writing a book on International Marketing.

 
 
Rob Woodrooffe
 
  •  Rob’s first job as in the Shell Canada’s newly formed Advertising Department in the summer of 1964.  His main responsibility was to develop the Shell credit card, still in its very early days. This task introduced him to the discipline of direct marketing and its ability to create measurable relationships with its customers
  • In 1974, Interwood was formed, first as a fulfillment service for direct marketing clients and then as a marketing company with the launch of its first 4 TV direct response offers in July 1974.
  • In 1981, Interwood created its 1st DRTV commercial for a convection frying pan called Swiss Dry Cooker. It was a huge success and sold more than 200,000 units on CNN alone.
  • In 1983, Interwood launched a DRTV operation in the US and this was followed in 1987 with the opening of a European base in London. As CNN (one of its stations) became global, Interwood followed it as an advertiser and introduced DRTV to distributors in 100+ countries
  • 1987 was also the year that Interwood launched Didiseven stain & spot remover on Canadian television. Its Canadian launch proved its success and it has since sold more than 20,000,000 tubes through its network
  • In the 1990’s Rob served on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Retailing Association.
  • In 1994, Rob was chosen the Direct Marketer of the Year by the Canadian Marketing Association
  • In September 2007, Rob was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by The Electronic Retailing Association for his contributions over the years to DRTV around the world. Rob was the first non-American to receive this award.

Pankaj L Shah

  • Mr Shah is a Consultant for Business Start-Ups in Network Marketing.
    His Network Marketing Consultancy encompasses the complete gamut of conceptualization to implementation, including Starter Kit, Products & Compensation Plan selection, Cost-Analysis, inputs for Software development & maintenance, Payout Analysis, inputs for development of Marketing Tools and Achievement plans, Logistic solutions, Back –Office Management etc.
  • A Consultant Biochemist, he started his career in Jaslok Hospital Research Centre in 1977. After a tenure with TATA Exports for Medical Exports,
    he switched over to marketing by going to Dubai for establishing a network for Diagnostic Products. 
    On his return from Dubai, he moved in as IT Chief of Atcom Technologies Ltd.
  • He saw a bright future in Network Marketing and consulted for:

Mr. Priyanga Hapugalle

  • Following a career in advertising and then Brand Management at Reckitt & Colman (Ceylon) Ltd, Priyanga ventured out to pioneer Direct Marketing in Sri Lanka in 1992, inspired by an article he read on One to One Marketing,.
    He set up the country’s largest marketing database as head of P B N Direct and conceptualized a highly successful DIY Direct Marketing tool, BUSINESS 5000 for B2B Marketers.
  • He holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and Journalism from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
    Priyanga is also the first Sri Lankan graduate from the CAM Foundation (UK) and the Institute of Direct Marketing (UK).
    A recipient of a scholarship on mobile and e commerce to Japan, he was a finalist for the Marketer of the Year award from CIM, Sri Lanka Branch, for small businesses, for two consecutive years as well.
  • Priyanga has been exposed to a wide range DM markets from LA, London, Australia, Middle East and of course the Asia region.
    He introduced DM to the Maldives in 2009.
    In recognition of his achievements and contribution to the advertising and marketing industry, he was elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. Priyanga is also a regular presenter and contributor on Direct Marketing to the business community, academia and media.
