Television / Direct to Home (DTH) platform
 
DTH scores in offering services to let consumers watch their favourite programmes anytime.  DTH players have introduced services like retrieval of news headlines at any given time.  They are planning to launch a pay-per-movie service for which consumers pay a fixed sum.   
India is set to become the top pay television market in Asia Pacific by 2015, with pay TV penetration forecast to grow from 60% of television homes in 2006 to 85% in 2011, then to 90% by 2015. According to the report, DTH homes are estimated to reach 38 million by 2015, up from 3 million in 2006. 
There are 108 million cable and television homes (C&S). Of the 6 million DTH users in the country, Dish TV has over 3-million subscribers, Tata Sky has over 2-million DTH subscribers. Currently, out of 120-million TV households in India, 70 million have cable connection. By 2015, 40% of the pay TV universe (cable TV and DTH) are likely to comprise DTH users, significantly up from around 5% now.......................
